General FAQs

Why Wax?

Waxing is the best choice for hair removal because it removes the entire hair shaft all the way down to the root. We offer different types of hair removal options such as hard wax, soft wax, and sugar wax. Each wax is designed to remove light, medium, and coarse hair from all areas of the body. After each wax your hair will gradually grow back slower & thinner.

How Long Should My Hair Be For Waxing?

The recommended hair length for a successful wax is at least 1/4" long or the size of a grain of rice. This will help ensure the hair will be completely removed from the root.

I Just Shaved, How Long Should I Wait To Get Waxed?

It is best to wait 3-4 weeks after you have shaved to achieve the best results! If you come in prematurely this will hinder the results as it takes time to grow out each of the three cycles.

How Long Will My Wax Last?

Depending on if you have been shaving, there will be a transitional period. It generally requires 2-3 consistent waxes to achieve the best results, which are 3-4 weeks of no hair, softer hair, & slow re-growth. If you have not been shaving prior to getting waxed, these results may be gained quickly.

Can I Shave Between My Wax Appointments?

We do not advise shaving in between your wax appointments. Overall waxing slows down & reduces the hair growth. The hair grows much thinner making it easier to remove & reduces pain when waxed. If you shave just one time in between your appointment will reset all the benefits that have been gained so far from waxing & can further irritate the follicles which can cause painful ingrown hairs.

I'm On My Period. Can I Still Get Waxed?

Yes, you can still get waxed on your period as long as you have a menstrual cup or tampon inserted. We do advise to avoid scheduling your appointment before or during your menstrual cycle due to the high sensitivity during this time.

How Should I Prep For My Wax?

What Can I Expect After My Wax? How Can I Avoid Ingrown Hairs?

Waxed skin may be tender for a couple of days, we advise taking Ibuprofen to decrease inflammation and skin sensitivity. You can also apply Aloe Vera Gel to the waxed area to help with the inflammation. We recommend exfoliating with a dry brush or an exfoliating glove/rag every 2-3 days weekly to avoid ingrown hairs.

What Should I Avoid After My Wax?

When Should I Avoid Getting Waxed?

If You Are Currently on Accutane, Rentinoids, or Tretinoin, please wait at least a year after last use before getting waxed. These products can make your skin thinner and possibly cause the skin to burn, lift, scab, or tear when waxed.

What If I Have A Strange Reaction After My Appointment?

Every skin reacts different when it comes to hair removal, no need to panic! Please just call us so we can work through any problems or concerns that might've occurred.

Hard Wax FAQs

What is Hard Wax?

Hard Wax is a thicker consistency that can be removed by hand once it hardens, hard wax only adheres to the hair and not the skin making it a more less painful experience than soft wax.

Soft Wax FAQs

What is Soft Wax?

Soft wax is a thin consistency that adheres to the hair and the top layer of the skin and is removed using a wax strip. Soft wax can remove the tiniest bit of hair and provide great exfoliation to skin. Depending on your pain tolerance there might be discomfort.

Sugaring FAQs

What Is Sugaring?

Sugaring is a natural hair removal method made up of three simple ingredients: sugar, lemon, and water! Sugaring is a great holistic/natural alternative to wax as it does not adhere to the skin and removes dead skin cells along with the hair. This is a perfect option for those sensitive skin.

Sugar paste is applied going against the hair growth and removing in the opposite direction. This can lead to longer results and possible permanent hair loss!

Is Sugaring Painful?

All hair removal is uncomfortable, depending on your pain tolerance sugaring may be doable! The first time will always be the hardest, but it will get better after each consistent visit!
